“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”
– Henri Cartier-Bresson
When I was seven, my parents bought me a camera and four rolls of film for Christmas. I went and shot everything I could think of… and promptly ruined all four rolls. Heads were cut off, images weren’t centered, and everything was blurry. I was told that I should never be a photographer. Being the stubborn girl that I am, I wanted to prove them wrong and, I have.
I love telling stories. I was the editor of our college yearbook where I developed an eye for excellent photography, and, more importantly, I developed the ability to convey emotion through photos. I honed my portrait work during a Christmas season as a photographer in a local studio. It was there that I decided I wanted to provide more for my clients than two-hour waits in a crowded waiting room full of angry parents and screaming kids.
When I’m not behind my camera, I enjoy spending time with my amazing husband, traveling, goofing around with friends, and enjoying a good book and a glass of wine.
